LG enV3 Syncs With Mac

by Mark Vernik

Just upgraded my phone to the LG enV3. I was holding out for the iPhone on Verizon but two drawbacks. It’s not coming anytime soon and really didn’t need the data package.

I have been very happy with the LG enV3 but found one item that made the deal complete. I wanted to sync my contacts with Mac’s Address Book. Seems as though someone has finally developed one for the mac community and since it was rather difficult to find this information I want you to have it as well.

It is developing everyday and will sync notes, contacts and calendar. Nice. Though you may find few glitches it has worked well for me. It works as a systems pref pane and is free of charge.

I found the info here and the progress downloads are here.

Dear Mark,

I was wondering if you could help me troubleshoot some issues I’m having syncing music to my cellphone?

Thanks,
Vincent

I haven’t tried to sync the music at all. I didn’t have much luck via bluetooth but have not had a pressing need to do so either. I looked around briefly and found this link on the verizon boards. Not sure if you saw it.

Disclaimer: Thanks for the compliment but I didn’t write the software. I only was sharing the solution I found while looking for some answers. You can use the links above to go to the forums to find more specific information on the software.

Hi, I am a Mac user, intel iMac, Macbook Pro and iPad 2. I just bought a new Verizon iPhone 4 for myself, and a LG Octane for my wife. We bought the Octane so she could text message with our grandkids; the Octane has the largest keyboard available. It is not a smartphone, and I want to sync the calendar to iCal. My searches for a process to do this prior to buying the phone have been in vain. Can you help me? My iMac and MacBook Pro run OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) As a Mac user I am totally ignorant of anything non-Mac, so I need some hand holding if you are able to help me. Thank you in advance.

Great question. I still use the enV3. I am not familiar with syncing the Octane. So a quick research on the topic revealed a little information that might help if you desire to pursue it. I didn’t see any support for mac so there must be a work around. Sounds like you might be able to sync the Octane to
Outlook, then to Google Calendar which can be synced to mac. It sounds ugly but maybe possible. Since I don’t have the device I won’t be much help.

Here is the link for some discussion on the Octane. Let me know if you find anything useful.
