Import Facebook Fan Page Albums

Do you want to display your FaceBook albums in your wordpress. Well, I found out that that’s really easy… if it’s your profile page. Try finding a good solution that’s easy for fan page albums and good luck. Until I found this info.

This is a quite rough and ready hack and there’s surely a cleaner way to do it. One remaining issue is that thumbnails for fan page albums do not show. To correct this simply comment out or remove line 810 in the fotobook.php file. (This occurs because the facebook pids for fan page photos seem to have “_” characters in them).

If you prefer here’s a complete fotobook archive with the changes above:

Modified fotobook plugin (just replace your fotobook folder with the one in this archive)

I found that this works well. However, you must sign into Facebook using the account that created the Fan Page. At least that was my experience as I was doing this for someone else you must either have the login info or walk them through it. But first try it out with a fan page you created and go from there. The plugin in simply requires the “id” of the fan page itself. Not to hard to find that info.

So good luck and let me know if this helped. I hope you find this before you spent too long looking for the information.

I finally ran into the same problem and found this plug-in (after many other attempts) from Aaron Harp called Fotobook.

The interface works well. Once you install the plugin you go to the settings-fotobook in the admin area and set it up there. The only negative I found is that right now it pulls the main account photos (which you can set to not show) and the fan page. The only thing you need is the fan page id and enter it on the settings page. Hope this helps.

The only trouble I do have is that one of the galleries isn’t importing but all the others have. Checked the permissions so don’t know if there is some new problem. I hesitate to think that because one of the other new galleries came in no problem. Wish there was a very simple way to do this automatically. SO far this is the only plugin that I have found to come close to what I want.
